Which gets me thinking - what were some of the great trilogies of our time? Yeah, some movies didn't stop at 3 and made the mistake of continuing past the magical number 3 - I'll ignore those for today and list my favorite trilogies:
- Original Star Wars Trilogy - Duh...
- Austin Powers - Beyonce was the best "Powers Girl"
- Godfather - Ignore the 3rd one please
- Back to the Future - has anyone seen the 2nd one more than once?
- Beverly Hills Cop - Again, first 2 are the best
- Star Wars Prequel Trilogy - Ignore Jar Jar
- Matrix - Although it didn't answer the questions in the 3rd that came up after viewing the 2nd.
- Naked Gun - There were 1, 2.5, and 33 and 1/3 (still technically a trilogy)
- Scream - When modern scary movies were scary, not just overly-gory as they are now
- Terminator - Ignore the third
- Lord of the Rings - By length, more like 5 movies worth.
- Mission Impossible
As you can see, it's hard to make a good trilogy without killing the original effect with a piss-poor showing on the third movie. Which list will this summer's movies end up on????? Guess you'll just have to stay tuned.
But then I began to notice how many other instances of the number 3 were popping up all weekend:
- Gordon won his third race of the year with all the support of my friends around the country who have decided to start cheering for the champion that he is destined to become! I know he thanks you (as do I) for all of your support.
- American Idol is down to three this week - no more LaKisha (as again predicted here).
- Junior and DEI seperated, causing speculation that Budweiser could now be on the Number 3 car with an Earnhardt (owned by Richard Childress who could pick up Jr in 2008). Interesting.... Another random NASCAR thought - anyone else find it funny how many more Napa commercials there are with Michael Waltrip and Dale Jarrett - neither of whom can qualify for the race week after week? Too bad for them....
- I finished planting my flowers/plants by having to replace THREE of my daylillies which did not survive the Minnesota Winter.
- Chicago Bulls are only down 3-1 after a poor game three. Detroit just looks that good though right now.
- And in unrelated to the number "3" thoughts: Stamps went up yet again to 41 cents (an increase of 2 cents for those that actually knew what the rate used to be) starting today. So no more using the stamps that have the Statue of Liberty and only say "First Class Stamp" on them (no value written). Like that won't cause any confusion.
Oh, the number 3
Sometimes Holy, sometimes not
It comes after "2"
Entertainment of the Day - I watched Alpha Dog this weekend with Justin Timberlake, and the kid from The Girl Next Door who still looks like he's in high school. It was an ok movie, but felt like it was done by kids. Supposedly based on a true story which is kind of scary if it was. Basically they kidnap a rival's brother who becomes friends with the drug gang - but they still have to knock him off in the end. Anyways.... doubt they'll make a trilogy out of this one!
Weblink of the Day - A quick harmless game to get your week started (or delay starting your work week) - use the arrow keys to stay on the screen.

So you root for Jeff Gordon. Its weird that you would pick someone to root for that was a champion. I mean with the Braves and the Red Wings - it just doesn't seem like you. Weird :-,
