- Spiderman 3 took the weekend box-office crown which was no surprise to anyone I'm sure. Smashing records but that's not the part that gets me. So Spidey pulled in $148 million for the weekend. In 2nd place was the old champ Disturbia at a mere $5.7 million. That's less than 4% of the other one. So basically anyone who went to see a movie this weekend was for Spiderman and the only other people that went to a movie were the ones that couldn't get tickets because they showed up late so were stuck watching something else. I just see that as a monster difference between 1st and 2nd place. It isn't quite as amazing to see the records fall considering almost every theatre raises their ticket prices every year. Still a lot of money.
- Paris Hilton got her new boob job just in time to go to prison next month. She's trying to get out of it (of course) but I'm not sure she will considering how she blatantly disregarded her probation - MULTIPLE TIMES. The other ladies in prison will love to meet her acquaintance I'm sure. But she does fire her publicist after all of this considering it was he that told her it was ok..... I know that's the first person I'd ask about anything that dealt with legal rulings. The best was a letter from one fan to Governor Arnold asking for Divine Austrian Intervention stating: “She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives,”..... This is Paris we're talking about her right? Sounds more like someone describing Lassie. Was Lassie a girl?
- Rocket returns to the Yankees - could they give us any more reason to hate them? I was just starting to feel indifferent towards the guy and he goes and does this. Doesn't hurt him either to have a pro-rated contract of $28 million.
- Red Wings won decisively on Saturday and didn't even give up 2 goals in this one. Game 6 tonight to hopefully finish this series out and move on to Anaheim.
- Twins game from Friday night - a very non-exciting game that the Twins lost (yet again)! My record for attending Twins games at the dome and watching them win is very very poor.
- Gas prices continue to rise. Meanwhile I'm looking at how to get the official title "Oil Expert" so I can state whatever I want and influence gas prices. Saying things like "Gas will be below $2" (It was there for less than a month) or "$3 is past us" or even the most recent one "Gas prices will be highest in middle of May" which all of us know will not remain true. I'll see what I can come up with and I'll try to make my statements a little more profound.

Entertainment of the Day - I saw Dreamgirls this weekend and thought it was very well done. Yes, it's pretty obvious why Jennifer Hudson won the supporting actress award too after watching it. Her song "Love You I Do" was quite incredible. Only surprise was that Eddie Murphy had the role he did with that much singing when Jamie Foxx has the much better voice. I would have considered swapping those two actors - I didn't consider Eddie's performance as Oscar-worthy.

Lassie on the show was a girl. Timmy was always calling "Here girl". However, the actual part of the dog was played by a number of dogs over the years. The dogs were both male and female. Just a bit of trivia for you Dude. .........Dad
