Running Low on AI

For the 5 people in the world who do NOT watch AI.... only two more weeks of this junk, then back to "normal"

Here comes that pesky number 3 again on American Idol.... thought doing three songs with three contestants (9 songs total) made it feel rushed, but there was still enough cheezy moments to forget. Randy's shirt was a little loud and isn't as easily forgettable.

Jordin - Never heard that song by Rose Royce and not sure I want to. They'll always hold the title for "best Disco song" with Car Wash. It was pretty good performance, not quite up to her full potential.

Blake - Remember my rule about not singing Sting or The Police? Still applies... BUT - Roxanne might be the one exception. Mainly because I laugh every time I hear it when I think of Eddie Murphy singing it in 48 hours. Classic classic moment!

Melinda - I still wouldn't sing Whitney.... it was ok - but I was bored enough to remember how I can't figure out where Melinda's neck is. It's curiousity, not being mean about it. Just strange....

Round 1: Melinda (10 points), Jordin (7 points), Blake (3 points)

Jordin 2 - Ok, time to be serious. At no point in a competition where you depend on votes from viewers, do you ever... EVER... NEVER EVER admit that your "favorite song of all time" is MMMmmm Bop by Hanson. I will not vote for her based on that stupid comment alone. That far exceeds any stupid comment by Kelly Hickler from last season. Don't even remember the performance, just the little dude Bob who would play that song 10-15 times on our dorm floor my sophomore year in college.... I hate that song.

Blake 2 - Ok, Blake is easily the most fun to watch on stage and that gets some votes. Stealing the show from tomorrow night's "guest" with their own song. Blake has potential to sell the most records of the three if given the right genre (which the Maroon 5 song would be the right genre to sell). Wow, Randy has the same input I do.

Melinda 2 - Nut Bush City Limits??? That's seriously a song? I thought that was just the name of the bar/restaurant in Onalaska, WI that I drive past all the time on my way to rehearsals. Still something not fitting in her performance... Melinda is a good performer, but I feel she's borderline karaoke at times with some of that.

Round 2: Blake (10 points), Melinda (7 points), Mailman (3 points), Guy at the RAC who sings in the lockerroom anything written before 1970 (2 points), The Japanese guy at Jenpachi who sings "Happy Birthday" super SUPER loud (and horribly) (1 point), Mmmm Bop Jordin (0 points).

Jordin 3 - Much better.... that's the performance that can get her to win this thing! Is the sound on Fox sounding crappy for anyone else? Not the quality of sound I would hope for week in and week out. I'd rank this in the top 3 performances of the season, along with her rendition of "Never Walk Alone" and Blake's "You Give Love". Thank you for not singing Hanson.

Blake 3 - Sir Mix a Lot? Seriously? That might be the funniest thing on AI all season. Should have sung that song for his main performance! Instead I have to be reminded how someone thought it'd be cool to do Beethoven's Fifth Symphony to Disco beat... how much drugs did y'all do in the 70s to think that was a good idea? Blake's performance? eh.... might be the reason he goes home this week.

Melinda 3 - THERE'S THE CRYING WE'VE MISSED!!! Where's Wheeler's favorite "Crying Girl"=Hailey to help make the moment even more sappy? As for Melinda - she's very good... but that song/style just won't sell the records. Nice interaction with the backup band though.

Round 3: Jordin (10 points), Melinda (7 points), Blake (3 points)

Overall: Melinda 24, Jordin 17, Blake 16

So there's my prediction... Jordin vs Melinda next week. A 4 hour marathon to see which one is still standing after the end of the 4 hours and then they get the American Idol Tiara to wear for a year.

Link #1 of the Day Cruzin Cooler (thanks Kahn) - brought to you by the smart people at Cabela's. What person doesn't have a use for this????

Link #2 of the Day - 10 great moments in QVC history. Some are repeats, some fake (Doorbell and Porn), but all are funny. I still can't stop laughing at the Horse one!

Link #3 of the Day A long but very worth while video to watch. Countdown from 100 to 1 of random movies mentioning that number.... you'll see what I mean once you start watching. I recognize a lot of the movies, but still don't know a lot.

And a link just for Pat and Wheels: Spacecataz

GO RED WINGS!!!
