Red Wings looked awesome last night in their 2-0 win. Some amazing defense that helped them win, plus a shut-out on the road will help boost their confidence moving into the next round against Anaheim. This means the return of Pronger vs. the Wings! Anaheim has looked good but they've also had a lot of time off - Wings in 5.
Preeclampsia Walk-a-Thon this Saturday at various locations. I'll be walking in the Minneapolis edition at 10am if anyone is "in the neighborhood" and wants to join me. Or look into walking at a location near you.
American Idol final four perform tonight - and doing some music of the Bee Gees! I love disco night but not sure who's going to give us the best show. The early Vegas line is that LaKisha will be next to go but it's also safe to say that all of the final four will record and release a record.
Another interesting development with Apple/iTunes and the recording industry. So yet again the music execs want more money so they are trying to encourage Apple to up their prices from the 99 cents they currently charge. In the past, Apple and Steve Jobs have always said "no way" and that's that. This time, Jobs is saying "we might consider it, but in doing so - let's make the files all standard format", rather than the encrypted .m4p files or whatever the iTunes files are. From a business perspective, Apple would gain more non-iPod customers if the files are straight downloadable .mp3 files (which they should be in many people's opinions). As a customer, you wouldn't have to worry about "converting" the files into MP3 that way. There used to be programs (the non-legal type) that would do it for you, but the "other" way is to burn a CD which converts the files into a .WAV file - then just use your local favorite rip to MP3 software. I think it shows that Apple is trying to protect the users from the evil recording industry. Some readers who's name starts with "K" and rhymes with "Kahn" may think Apple is the evil one here, but I think you're just misguided. Apple had little choice of the format for iTunes if they wanted to get the support of the recording industry. There, that's my soapbox of today.
I will be gone Thursday and Friday - at a Graduation in Davenport. So tomorrow's AI update/opinion will be my last blog of the week.
Haiku of the Day
It's 80 degrees
Trees blooming, no snow in sight
Still - hockey playoffs???
Entertainment of the Day - Despite being harrassed with Steve Perry and Journey a lot of yesterday (JOURNEY SUCKS!!) - today's entertainment is a non-Journey one though. I watched Charlotte's Web the remade one this past weekend. It was what you'd expect from a remake - not the cartoon one. It was ok, but the best part was the extra that talked about how they made the movie. The only characters who were computerized were Timpleton the Rat, and Charlotte herself. Otherwise they trained the pigs to do all the things that Wilber did in the movie. After watching it and discovering how trainable pigs are, I think it'd be pretty cool to have one as a pet like my cousin Jimmy had.
Weblink of the Day - So after about a week, I finally beat all 20 levels of that cable game from last week. But today I honor my best buddy Eddie with MOVIE POSTERS FROM POLAND!!!! Too funny!
