It's American Idol Time

So if you're one of the 10 or 11 people in this country that DOESN'T watch American Idol.... you're at a loss today. It's that time of year when the snow SHOULD stop falling (but actually comes more and more), when we start listening to overpaid baseball players whine about hangnails and how they can't play ball for 4 weeks, and also when we are drawn to the show that takes a bunch of no names and makes them water cooler talk for the next 30 weeks (and not really a week longer).

Thoughts on the Guys Performances:
1) Phil - he's too goofy looking to win, but he's pretty good singer. Was that a Sting song? B+
2) Jared - Pretty boy with a forgettable performance. B-
3) AJ - I actually enjoyed the performance although he didn't look like he enjoyed that style. B+
4) Sanjaya - he's probably the most musically gifted of the guys, but way out of his element here. My pick for being gone. C
5) Chris - he can sing, but he was the "Affirmative Action" candidate in the fact that he doesn't fit the "TV-pretty" mold. A- (for the hot wife and proof that big guys CAN get the cute girls!)
6) Nick - I pick him to be one of the final 6 easily. I didn't like the song. B+
7) Blake - Probably the worst pick of a song and not sung very well. Very disappointing as I think he will be the last guy standing. Plus I hate the sidehat look. B+
8) Brandon - Zzzzzzzzz... don't sing Cyndi Lauper. C-
9) Chris - "Geek in Pink"? Didn't do it for me... although he was pretty good. A-
10) Sunny - I think he's got some potential and is more naturally gifted than the others for this competition. The teary eyed dedication helps too. Probably my favorite of the night. A
Backup Band - A+ best part of the show!!

Girls night last night - It's the girls' show to lose at this point!
1) Gina - I hate Heart. Seriously. No vote for you just because you picked a shitty song. Where were the roller skates and disco ball? B
2) Alaina - She's cute - was hoping she'd dedicate the song to me though:( That was overall pretty crappy and I think she'll be headed home. C-
3) Lakisha - She's good but not as much fun as last week. Definitely gets the "politeness" award. A-
4) Melinda - I like her and thought she was kick ass tonight! A+
5) Antonshitty - That was horrible - Should have been gone last week, should be gone this week. She's this season's Bucky!! F
6) Jordin - spells her name wrong. Good song, good job, too much crying. A
7) Stephanie - She's looking a lot hotter which is the icing on the cake! I didn't like the arrangement by the band but she still was darn good. Last note was flat. A
8) Leslie - She looks like Nichole Kidman, dressed like Avril Lavigne, and sounds like the Karaoke girl at the Viking Lounge (skat was horrible). I said see ya later girl! D
9) Haley - That was kind of hot... she's kind of hot.... Proof that not everyone from Texas has to talk with a heavy accent. B+
10) Sabrina - I'm still waiting for someone to ask me to "couple skate" - BUT that was a heck of a lot better and she'll go far. B... the bridge wasn't really in tune.

It was dedication night. Many emotional dedications to spouses, parents, and many many grandparents. I would have dedicated my performance to Britney and sang Crazy by Charles Barkley. Stay tuned to see who goes home....

Haiku of the Day -
Cyclones beat Huskers
The SECOND time this season
We OWN their asses

Entertainment for the Day - I watched Idiocracy last weekend which is the movie where Luke Wilson (the normal looking Wilson and much funnier) goes into a time capsule and emerges some 200 years in the future and is now the smartest man. The setup of how the average human IQ is actually the funniest part of the movie. The smart people of the world are too focused on their careers to have children, yet the "bad genes" are the ones sleeping around and having way too many kids... thus the decline in smart people in the world. Thankfully it was only 80 minutes long (under 50 with my 1.5x movie watching habit).

Weblink of the Day - Dock your boat (using the arrow keys) into the space shown (in green). Fun little quick game for this morning!

I've tried 5 times and crash the boat each time! Don't tell Jeff or he won't let me drive the boat anymore!! :)

Is "docking my boat" some sort of sick sexual innuendo thing. If it is, I must really be good at it with a second kid on the way and all. Besides, I was docking my boat in all the chicks before I found my one true love. Sorry about your couch back in college.
