Congrats to Jason and Melissa in La Crosse with the birth of a new daughter. Another "niece" for me to be the human jungle gym for when I visit La Crosse!
So I'm taking a lead from Kahn's one blog in the past 4 months.... there has been a LOT of talk lately of "theme" music. Call it entrance music, or music coming to bat in the big game, but I think everyone should have a theme. The big talk from yesterday was Hilary Clinton announcing her campaign theme which is Celine Dion?!?!?!? Seriously? That's the best you could do? Guess she's trying to corner the market on the Over 50 female Canadian voters...... Obama is wisely going after the younger voters and he's even got a very attractive female admiror. How many presidential candidates get someone this hot to make a video about them for YouTube???? Bravo - WELL DONE!!!
Which would be my theme song? You know, that music that plays every time you enter a room! Take a page from the Wrestling folks who have used this for many decades! We've even talked about getting the lab to play our entrance music here at work as we badge in. U2 is probably as cliche as Celine Dion.... despite being one of the biggest U2 fans I know. Here's a quick list that comes to mind this morning:
1) Perry Mason - Ozzy..... the intro alone would get people pumped to see me (if they already weren't).
2) Thunderstruck - AC/DC.... no explanation needed but probably overused.
3) Even Flow - Pearl Jam
4) I Disappear - Metallica
5) St. Jimmy - Green Day
6) Girls - Beastie Boys
7) Hypnotize - Notorious B.I.G.
8) Of course the Big Show Theme Song....
That's all I can think of for now.... I have class today to get ready for.
Haiku of the Day -
Music Wherever
I travel during the day....
How cool would that be?
Entertainment of the Day - An interesting movie/documentary was suggested to me by Matt and Jen... Enron: The Smartest Men in the Room is available through Netflix and it's very VERY interesting for anyone who has little knowledge of what happened with Enron. It's educational to learn of the entire rise (and of course the fall) of Enron up through the court decisions. It was released before Lay died of a heart attack. Also fishy to see the connections between Enron and certain governmental figures that are still in power.... that's all I'm sayin.
Weblink of the Day - Protect your dead tree using the mouse to shoot arrows. Learn the art of holding the mouse button and shooting a quick straight arrow... it'll be your best friend!
