CAUSE YOU HAD A BAD DAY

Ever have a start to a day you knew was just going to be bad? Some call it bad attitude, but I'm not so sure about that....

Weigh in wasn't that good. I blame the scale but I was up a little over a pound. Probably drank too much water this morning, but it's still easier to blame the scale. Maybe gravity is up with it being the Summer Solstice and all.... Oh yeah - Happy Summer Solstice by the way!!!! It's the danged longest day of the year, but also means the heat of summer really kicks in. Also says that winter is right around the corner which is fine by me!!!

Today will also be my first time of major dental work. Never had a cavity till January, now that same tooth has been hurting and after trying drugs, even tried bribing my dentist to put me under and rip the tooth out with a pliers, I have to have my very first root canal. He said per xrays the tooth looks very healthy and fine but it hurts with temperature change (like drinking very cold "water" on a hot day when your body temperature is up) to the point of extreme pain. So his thought is that the nerve in the tooth is shot (nothing I did to cause that) so we're going to "root canal" it. I looked online for a shirt that said "My first root canal" to wear to his office today but was unsuccessful. So pray for me to keep sane this afternoon. And don't expect to talk to me on the phone tonight since my mouth will be numb and I'll sound pretty unintelligent when I talk.

With the day going as well as it is, should be interesting for golf tonight.

I finished the Stephen King short story The Gingerbread Girl which was published last week in Esquire magazine. Not his best work by far, but not his worst either. A fairly quick read once you take the time to start it. He is very descriptive in his writing, but always borders on too much for people like me who aren't "vocabulary proficient" - remember, I'm an engineer all day long and we are historically not known for strong vocab skills.

And my complaint of the day? I got another wedding invite last night (that's not my complaint) but again it has the waxy piece of extra paper in there. What the heck is that for? Sure I could look it up on Wikipedia, but honestly - why put it in there as "tradition". Sorry, I have the mentality of everything has a purpose and if not, don't waste time/money/energy for something like that. If it were "pretty", it'd be different... but it's not.

Anyway - have a good Thursday. Just remember, no matter how bad it gets today - you're not the one getting the root canal.

Entertainment of the Day - I think American Idol should go back to using Bad Day as the voting off song. I like Daughtry (even though his songs are much over played on the radio right now), but his song Home just didn't compare to last year's BAD DAY!!!!

Weblink of the Day - Forgot about this yesterday.... Remember all the flavored Slice pops of the late 80s? Well some are coming back but this time Pepsi's doing it. CUCUMBER FLAVORED PEPSI (available in Japan for anyone headed that way)..... someone try it and let me know what you think. I do like the idea of "Spinach Sprite".
