A non-typical weekend by even my standards.....
The Mahler 2 Saturday night was incredible. The performance by such a high caliber Orchestra was as perfect as expected (although I could criticize a couple of points if I wanted to but it's pretty small in comparison). The thing that impressed me the most is how amazing the low strings sound inside of Orchestra Hall. That place is well designed and in the first movement where it's completely quiet for the low strings to come back in at such a soft level.... you can hear every note and slight accent on that line without any trouble. Most of the audience was respectful at that point - one idiot girl was trying to swap seats with her date and stopped moving when the ENTIRE BALCONY gave her a dirty look. Be aware of what's going on on stage before you feel inclined to make noise. Should have thrown her out faster than a pitcher for the Cubs.
Built a Dog Kennel for a non-typical dog. The Kennel is nicknamed "Gitmo". Long story.
Now that the secret is out, I did pick up some Prince tickets last weekend.... so July 7th is the date of Prince!!!!
Gordon with an unusual win - pissing everyone in NASCAR off yet again and more outcries of "conspiracy"... too much rain this year for races.
French Open finals this past weekend - Justine Henin won way too easily.... not a big fan of hers. And Nadal won for the men which just shows his dominance on Clay as well as how difficult it is for the best tennis player ever in Federer to win on that surface. Back to Federer winning all the time as we start Grass Season in Tennis.
Paris back in jail.... and there for a while I'm sure. I agree with the prosecutor who is trying to get the sheriff on contempt charges. Glad the judge is holding strong and there are a lot of funny clips of Paris crying uncontrollably realizing she's going back to jail and her money can't help her.
Gas prices back under $3. It was actually $2.87 in the cities, but good ol' Rochester has to keep it higher as is tradition. We're at $2.99 this morning still.
Blog's out - sorry for the delay but that's typical for Monday Morning!
