I know I said last June that I had seen the 2nd coming of Jordan while watching the Miami Heat win the NBA Championship.... but did anyone else see King Labron last night? Holy Crap! Playing one of the better defensive teams in the league, he scored the final 25 points for Cleveland in the 4th Quarter and both 1st and 2nd Overtimes. That's not supposed to happen in a game with 5 guys on the court per team. And at this part of the playoffs, one guy shouldn't be able to beat a team like he did last night. It was simply incredible in my opinion.
Speaking of Royalty.... Tickets go on sale tomorrow for Prince at the Target Center. And prices are under $500!!! Prince is one of the final groups on my "yet to see live" list and I plan on crossing him off in July. Also means I need to catch up on his last few albums as I am like the other 90% of the people out there who only know his stuff from the 80s and 90s. I'll skip the "new perfume" part of the concert.
Seeing the trailer for the new Transformers movie makes me excited for this one - maybe even seeing it in the theatre this summer!! Yes, like many other grown adults who watched cartoons through the 80s, Transformers were one of my favorites. Click on the link above, then check out the "Exclusive Trailer". Is there any good guy from the cartoons who is better or cooler than Optimus Prime? He was protective like a big brother, yet wise like a father. What other cartoons did I watch?
I remember Transformers was early on Saturdays.... 6:30am if I remember right. I would set my alarm to wake up, head downstairs to watch Transformers, then I had 30 minutes to get some cereal and toast before the next round of cartoons came on. I was a big GI Joe fan, loved the old Bugs Bunny/Road Runner repeat cartoons.... Muppet Babies, Dungeons and Dragons cartoon, Smurfs.... POLE POSITION!! There was a few episodes of M.A.S.K. in there too (think of the flying cars). Gummi Bears, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Garfield and Friends (remember the Farm animal part of that cartoon?)..... Inspector Gadget, Jetsons (although I think those last two were on weekdays after school, not Saturday Mornings..... Duck Tales (WOO-OOO), PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE!!! Remember "Land of the Lost"???? With the claymation Dinosuars and the cheezy introduction?
Ahhh... memories! Yes, I watched too much TV back then - probably still do. I also watch just as many cartoons now adays as I did back then. Any classic ones from the 80s that I'm missing?
