Free Stuff

I donated platelets this morning and since it was my 4th donation of 2007, I received a free SWEATSHIRT!!!! What a great present to get in late June as we head into the summer months. I believe that if I go back next week and donate again I get the free stocking cap (available in orange or camouflage colors) and winter gloves (good to -30C). I know, I should be thankful for free stuff - just find it ironic.

And as June comes to a close, look around at all the "specials" going on since it's end of quarter. We see it here at IBM - but look at the Car Dealerships with "amazing deals" that seem to get even better at end of the quarter (which ends at midnight on the 30th of June for those who don't deal with these things regularly). Chipotle has specials like "Free T-Shirt", or some clearance sales at furniture stores. Pay attention from now till the end of September - major purchases sometimes have larger benefits to wait till the final week of the quarter. But it also can bite us, notice how gas shot up 15 cents? I bet it drops off again on Monday. Need to get that last push to finish the quarter with strong profits.... I could write a book on this stuff.

By the way - I do sincerely apologize for the duplicate movie listing. I remember using that one last week now:) My short term memory kicking in again. Short attention span, same thing!

Should be nice weather in Minnesota/Iowa for the weekend! Good golfing weather (hint,hint)! Not sure what it's doing for my millions (AND MILLIONS) of readers out in the Philadelphia or San Francisco areas. I should go look again at where all of my readers are. Some in Arizona yet? If you are somewhere with bad weather, remember that Wimbledon is wrapping up the first week with some good tennis. Next week should be an exciting week to watch (yeah, while at work for some of us) on both the men's and women's side.

NBA Draft was pretty uneventful last night. Portland pretty much is creating a new team - and KG is still a T-wolf... for now:) Let's hope he stays!!! Give him a new iPhone for free without having to wait in line for 2 weeks like the other idiots out there:)

I may be adding a "SURPRISE" this weekend to my blog page, among some cosmetic changes since I'm anticipating a slower week next week.
