USBC

The Brews Brothers (and Drew) have left for Reno for the USBC tournament!!! No, USBC does not stand for any of the following:
  • United States Barista Championship
  • Uniform Statewide Building Code
  • United States Breastfeeding Committee
  • United States Bordeaux Corporation
  • US Bankruptcy Court
  • Upper Stratton Baptist Church
  • maybe United States Bridge Championships.... never know with those guys.
USBC is the US BOWLING Championship. Yes, bowling is for girls and everyone there will be required to wear skirts. Best wishes to them and hopefully no bail money is required to be taken from the slush fund.

The KG rumor mill is still churning. One thing is clear, neither Kevin nor the T-Wolves management think he'll be around next year. So they're attempting to get the Power Forward Jack from some teams.... and his teammate, Shooting Guard Shite. Next will start the rumors that the team is moving to Dallas - oh wait, that was the hockey team from Minnesota.

Wimbledon is under way and the American Men actually had wins in the first round (unlike last month in Paris)! Not sure why they actually play the tournament when Federer has no signs of slowing down. His numbers at Wimbledon are ridiculous: 4 straight championships (favorite to win his 5th straight). In the past 4 title runs, he's only lost 5 SETS!!! that averages to 1.2 sets per year. There are 7 rounds to win, so basically he wins 21 sets of tennis and drops 1.2 sets per year. That's simply incredible. Not even Tiger can brag that kind of dominance in an individual sport. And his time on court average is under 2 hours.... another baffling stat. And for the sports fans who have ESPN on all the time (as it is at my house), any talk about greatest athletes of 2006 needs to start with Federer and stop with Tiger. When you speak of the difficulty of individual sports such as tennis and golf, you can't bring in any individuals from team sports into the discussion. Think about it......

Other news items?
  • iPhone.... too much hype
  • Paris out of jail..... that was SOOOO yesterday
  • Tony Blair bid's adieu.... if only Bush would leave too
  • My calf muscle pop from Monday feels better today. No more limp but still tender for some reason.

Haiku of the Day -
Change is a good thing
Get out of your comfort zones
Bye Bye Tony Blair

Entertainment of the Day - I finally got to You, Me, and Dupree this past weekend. Pretty funny movie and not as bad as I had heard from some other people. I usually don't like Owen Wilson but he was ok. Funny how the movie situation actually became real life for a recently married friend from St. Ansger!!!

Weblink of the Day
- ok, this might be the funniest thing I've seen all week. SERIOUSLY!!! Everyone's favorite annoying song from the 80s done with hands!
