You knew they were coming.... get your very own "Free Paris" T-shirts but hurry, doubt they will be needed for long. I bet she stays the entire 23 days. A June she'll never forget! But on the plus side, I'm sure any videos she makes while in prison will be hot sellers!
On Sunday, I caught a brief segment of Rick Dees Top 40 show and he was discussing all the recent High School and College Graduates. So he had a list of the top 5 Graduation Songs of all time. Here's the songs that I can remember
Graduation by Vitamin C
I Believe I can Fly - R. Kelly
Good Riddance - Green Day
And two others that aren't coming to mind right at the moment.....
But the first song that comes to my mind when it's Graduation time that was left off of the list????? Alice Cooper singing School's Out!! And for a unique version on this, check out him singing the song with the Muppets! Who else finds you the good stuff like this??? Or the segment from Dazed and Confused that should ring true for all of us remembering that last day of school!! Ben Affleck's finest acting days. WARNING: PG language.
After Graduation has passed, you get to start thinking about what songs you want to play for your retirement:(
I watched Afra Samurai this weekend which is the new Anime film voiced by Samuel L Jackson. No, there are no Motha F***in' Snakes in the Motha F***in' Afro.... but it was actually well done for a newer Anime film. It reminded me of our obsession in high school with Akira - considered by many the "standard" of all anime movies, possibly the greatest ever. The other "standards" that I have seen but don't remember too much about off hand were Ghost in the Shell and Ninja Scroll. I should rerent all of those some weekend to watch. For those unfamiliar with Anime films... they are Japanamation cartoons that are pretty bloody and voilent. Anytime someone gets stabbed, blood shoots in every direction or the person implodes! Very unique style and far from the Bugs Bunny Days. Also reminded me of Kill Bill which not only used the anime tradtion in the one scene, but there were some other similarities throughout the movie.
Stupid Anaheim won last night to go up 3-1 in the Stanley Cup Finals. Means Lord Stanley's Cup will be onhand for the rest of the games. It is fun to watch the final one and see the excitement of the team who wins it all. Anaheim should win game 5 at home to skate around with the cup on home ice.
Haiku of the Day
Tales of Samurai
Lots of fighting and honor
All in a Cartoon!
Entertainment of the Day - Seraphim Falls: movie with an Irishman and an Englishman playing Colonels from the American Civil War. If you're able to get past that hurdle, it's a pretty dumb movie that I guess had potential but then nothing.... don't waste your time if you ask me.
Weblink of the Day - Ok, this might be the coolest thing I've posted in a long while (other than the Muppets clip earlier).... Microsoft announced a new technology that will blow your mind! It's a double touch screen computer in coffee table format, but within 5 years, you'll all want one of these in your home! Very cool!

Hey, I own "Ghost in the Shell" if you'd like to borrow it. I actually like watching it in Japanese with the subtitles on better than in English. The English voice acting is quite bad.
