So of course I'm flipping through the channels last night. I see "Barry Bonds is coming up, batting 2nd, at the bottom of the inning"... I continue to flip.... I see the NEW Family Feud with Al from Home Improvement. Does anybody know his real name ever? The question was "Name a dog breed that starts with C". Top 4 answers on the board. They got Chow Chow (which I would imagine encompasses all versions of Chow that are out there.... got ya covered Girby) and Chihuahua. So then there are two left (#1 and #3 for the record). I immediately thought of Ginger the Wonder Cocker Spaniel.... that's a "C". Oh yeah, and a Collie.... duh - one of those has to be #1. But I know that people say and do weird things under pressure.... so the first guess by the team was a lady who couldn't think of anything and luckily didn't say anything. Then the next lady guessed "Cougar". Ok, so technically that does start with a "C" but also technically... THAT'S NOT A DOG!!!! Of course that was strike 2. BUT that wasn't even the worst guess given by the team. The biggest guy on the team was next and he politely asks for clarification. And I quote "How about a Chow Mein... is that a type of Chow"..... you know the comedian who has the whole "here's your sign" routine? This would be quite the appropriate place for one. Hopefully my millions (AND MILLIONS) of readers realize that "Chow Mein" is not a dog but indeed a Chinese dish made up of stir-fried noodles. I see how one could get confused between a dog breed and something you order from China Star that is ready in 5-10 minutes. Of course the judges were not very forgiving and buzzed him for being stupid. The other team did steal with their Cocker-Spaniel answer. Funny part was they went to a sudden death tie break.... top ONE answer on the board - Name a place that requires security screening. And the same guy who asked if Chow Mein was a type of dog correctly rang in and answered "Airport". Game, Set, Match.

Oh yeah, Barry is up!! Flip back to ESPN2 (or any other ESPN network since they continue to stop everything for Barry's plate appearances). 3-2 count, nobody on. Good timing as the next pitch was hit out of the park. The best part was watching the mad scuffle in the stands for the $400,000 gift! Random people jumping on the pile (looked like a mosh pit of sorts) and who comes up with the ball? A FRIGGIN' METS FAN!!! As he's escorted out by the security-rent a cops.... Barry circles the bases, the game is stopped... fireworks, message from Hank Aaron (the non-juiced King), Willie Mays was walking around carrying the microphone.... oh yeah, San Fran ended up losing the game.

Back to Family Feud... no longer on:( Oh well - both events were worth a good laugh!

The times are up from Saturday's run.... although pretty raw form, not sure why they went with this weird format. First place came in at 15:50 at a 5:06 pace! There are 4 pages of results but you only have to go to PAGE 3 to find me!!! Check out 139th and look at that awesome sub 30 minute time I posted! HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES!?!?!?! Also note I was the last sub-30 minute time in the entire race! I should get an award for that! Anyway... I did try to catch "Jamie Christy" but she seemed to speed up too at the end. Don't remember her being 5 seconds in front of me but whatever. I can handle 139 out of 184!

So that's my ramblings for the day. Nebraska, HERE I COME!!!

Haiku of the Day
Babysitting is
easy - just distract him/her
every five minutes!

Entertainment of the Day - Thanks to the recommendation by North Carolina Adam, I watched the rest of Shooter with Marky Mark (no Funky Bunch) and Dennis Glover. It's kind of like a Bourne movie with Dirk Diggler running around with a gun..... NOT THAT GUN, a pistol. Well.. not THAT pistol, nevermind. Pretty good movie, don't watch it if you just saw the new Bourne movie, wait a week before jumping in the pool.

Weblink of the Day - Do ya like the new picture? Does it look like me? It was the best I could do with the tools given to me. You can create your own Simpsons Avatar at the Simpsons Movie webpage. Click on the "Create an Avatar" link at the top.

A scene from Pictionary:

"Wait, I don't even know what this word is!"

"Alright, what's the word?"

"Chee-Who-A-Who-A!"
