Lots to Comment On

I'm back in the office today playing catch up. Had a wonderful trip to Nebraska and after way too hot of temperatures, a wonderful wedding with family, and of course some Runzas.... back to the norm here in Minnesota! I'm WAYYYY behind in my commentary here:

Merv Griffin died this past weekend at the age of 82. He was the man behind the creation of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Those are probably the #2 and #3 most successful game shows on TV (Behind Price is Right of course... but that's on the decline now that Bob Barker is done). Plus they are the two games that are usually reserved for "intelligent" folks, instead of being pure luck. Jeopardy is in the middle of Teen Week which makes me feel a lot smarter knowing I can at least keep up with the 17-18 year olds at Jeopardy.

Tiger wins yet again. You have to respect the guy now that he's a mature champion. I was not a big fan of his initially but now that he's the most recognizable athlete on the planet, you can't help but root for him. Better than laughing at Sergio continue to choke and either lose or even be Disqualified!!! That's a separate discussion that I think he got screwed on. It's 2007 - use technology like every other sport.

Football is on TV again.... preseason so it is like watching baseball spring training.... does anyone really care?

Karl Rove is on his way out of the White House!!! The man I pretty much call the evil enabler of the evil twins is done making negative headlines for the Bush Administration. Problem is, he's probably responsible for keeping Bush's approval rating over 20%.... see what happens with him gone and out of the picture. He should be serving jail time or at least pardoned by his buddy Bush.

Elvis died 30 years ago this week. He would have been 72 if still alive today for reference.

I still hate August and the summer heat. I know we have been getting a lot of rain lately here in Rochester, but it's still too humid for my liking. The summer heat wave in Nebraska this past weekend was not good to me. I'll post pictures soon once I have time to go through a lot of them and find the good ones!

Want to get this posted so y'all have something to read.... I'll be back to "normal" the rest of this week!
