Congratulations to Drew and Kristi and welcome to Joseph Michael. All are doing well as Hazel and I stopped by last night to check up on the family. She'll go home today for some much deserved rest.
In racing news, Boy wasn't too happy to see Kenseth get in a wreck Sunday. It's called Karma and that's what he gets for driving like an idiot the previous week.
Here's something that really bothered me though..... all through the race we kept seeing commercials for Subway with their new garlic bread. So of course I gave in and had to have Subway for dinner last night. Only problem was that the guy said they don't get the new bread till tomorrow. What a crock of crap!! I hate advertising......
I also saw the teaser trailer for the new Simpsons movie coming out in July of 2007. WTF?!?!? Why bother having a teaser trailer for it when it's this far away? I just hope it doesn't kill the series like it has a knack of doing when TV shows go for the big bucks of a motion picture. Look at Southpark, Beavis and Butthead, Mr. Bean.... what other ones am I missing?
Baseball started last night (even though it was rained out in the 4th inning)!! YEAH!!! Here are my beginning of the season predictions:
AL Playoffs - Red Sox (go Ginter!), Indians, A's.... Wild Card to the Yankees unfortunately. Indians make the World Series.
NL Playoffs - Braves, Cardinals, Dodgers.... Wild Card to the Mets. Braves to the World Series.
Braves win it all in 6 Games!!!! They still have a great starting rotation in Smoltz, Hampton, Hudson, and even Sosa (not Sammy). Plus they have experience in Remlinger... just have to see if they can have strong closing (probably Reitsma again). Plus good riddance to Furcal and welcome to Edgar Renteria at Short Stop!! He's a huge addition that is just as good of a fielder as Furcal was, but a lot better hitter (and smarter!). Now if everyone can just stay healthy all season long!! The Braves were 10th in Payroll last year.... I don't think they'll move any higher this year than that - so no giving them crap about being "the Yankees of the NL". Blah!
Song of the Day - This really pissed me off when I saw it. Courtney Love is not only responsible for killing Cobain (in my mind), she is now selling out Nirvana's music because she's broke. She pisses me off - I'll just have to listen to some Nirvana this morning before it hits all the commercials on TV.
Video of the Day - I watched King Kong (American title: LONGEST MOVIE KNOWN TO MAN) yesterday. I enjoyed it and thought they did a lot of good work with the visual effects, I just thought it was way too long. You know my short attention span problem anyways, this movie only made it worse. There were a lot of scenes where I thought he could have cut some out or even skipped all together, but I'm not a director. Jackson is rumored to next redo Ishtar into a 4 hour film.
Webpage of the Day - About the funniest 30 seconds you will read all day! Seriously! Pimpin' Ain't Easy!!!

Baseball already? That season is just too long. At least wait until basketball and puck ball playoffs are over with.
I also wish I could sue my pimp! He be slappin' me around all the time.
The Simpson's movie has been an idea for probably ten years now. I have a feeling that after 20 seasons, the Simpsons will probably be done, and might just do movies from then on.
You could probably add most SNL skits that get turned into movies to the list of TV shows that aren't as good after the movies. But there are exceptions, i.e. Blues Brothers, Wayne's World. The other side of the list is much longer.
Night at the Roxburry would be on your list of successes I would hope....
