'Cause You Had A Bad Day

AI saw the dismissal of Kellie. So all of my conspiracy theories go out the window (for this week) and the American people (some 47 million people!!!) have spoken. Good riddance. I am glad to see her go as for two weeks in a row, she was horrible. My ranking for this week: Elliott, Chris, Katharine, Taylor, Paris, Bye-Bye Kellie. And no, I wasn't impressed with Andrea Bocelli who's comments were about as helpful as Paula's. But David Foster was pretty cool. He wasn't afraid to work on the "nuts and bolts" of the performance. Stuff like pitch problems, technique, etc. That's what these folks need right now.

One thing I find ironic is not only do we have more people voting for American Idol every week than vote for the president every 4 years (AI only has a 2 hour window where most voting offices are open 12+ hours), but how the AI results are major headlines on every news webpage. Right up there with the abolishing of FEMA, Gas Prices issues, and Snoop Dogg going into custody at Heathrow. Scotland Yard obviously doesn't like the D-O-double-gizzo.

We had an "ice-breaking" event here at work yesterday. We had beautiful weather and gave the people in our area an hour to go mingle and play some simple games to try to win fabulous prizes. It was a good time except I got too much sun in the hour that I was out there without a hat. It's time like this that I hate being bald. So now the top of my head is red (doesn't hurt, just looks red) and I'll probably hear jokes about it all day. I don't mind shaving my head since there's no hair up there to really save anyways - but there are a few bad things that come with being bald. Obviously the sun and burning every time I spend more than 10 minutes in the sun without a hat. Another thing that I hate are the constant bald jokes.... think I haven't heard them all yet? Plus it seems so easy to make fun of the bald guy. I also hate having to buy new razors all the time to continue shaving it every couple of days. Gets expensive!!! Oh well......

Golf last night was horrendous for me. I shot somewhere between 30 and 100 is all I'm going to say. I was driving the ball really well (only missed one fairway when using my driver), but then it was a challenge from there of getting the ball onto the green. And my putting was pretty crappy as well - just had an overall hard time judging speeds and distances last night. Must have been all that sun. I did enjoy the nice cool weather and the ability to be outside enjoying it. That's enough reason to golf right there.

Song of the Day - I pulled the Stone Temple Pilots back out. I know most people who enjoy STP don't even own Shangri La Di Da (their last studio album), but I rather enjoy that album. Today on the way in to work I was listening to Wonderful which is an awesome song and I would place it in their top 5 list of greatest songs. I wish STP was still together as they were one of the most musical bands of my generation.

Video of the Day - I watched Good Night and Good Luck this week. I didn't live through the McCarthyism era, only read about it in history books, so I enjoyed the movie, but probably didn't fully appreciate it. I did find it ironic the parallels between McCarthy accusing everyone of being communist, and today's current administration accusing everyone of being a terrorist. Interesting how history has a natural way of repeating itself.

Webpage of the Day
- All of you Nickelback fans will appreciate this one. Kahn sent this to me and I thought it was well done and proves a point. I'd still go see Nickelback in concert though. I don't care for their new song though. Sounds too much like their other ones probably:)

Bald guys with completely shaved heads also have an intimidation factor. You should play into that more, because you also have the size intimidation factor going for you. You shouldn't have to put up with people making fun of your baldness. I have to put up with people making fun of my gray hairs.
