Your World News Headquarters

So what's in the news this week?

Rumsfeld is under fire from several retired generals. That is not what surprises me (the generals are all about publicity at this point so when they continue to write controversial books, people will have more exposure to the situation which means more money in their pockets.... funny how that works). But what does surprise me is the way Dub-ya handled it. "I'm the decider and I decide what's best". Well thanks for playing Georgie. Look around you and you might want to decide on some other things for once and improve this country and your approval rating. They should redefine the term "lame duck president". Usually it refers to the period after the election before the new president takes office (the two months of November and December) but Bush takes it to a new level since he can't be re-elected.

Gas is rising and rising again. They predict that it will top out in May! HA! Watch it go baby!!! $2.82 in Rochester today. I need a new car - tired of paying about 20 cents per mile that I drive. If I didn't have to worry about hauling my bass around, I probably would find something else. I do own 2/3 of my truck as of this week!! YAY!

NHL regular season is over - now comes the best time of the year with the playoffs! Get those beards started! NBA will be finishing this week as well. Not sure who I'm cheering for....

And I'm getting tired of hearing about the Duke La Crosse rape scandal. I think it's because the media attention isn't giving people an awareness, it's giving too much exposure to the athletes. I in no way condone their actions (whether it be the rape, or the hiring of a dancer), but I'm wondering a few things..... would there have been this much press if it would have happened at San Wherever State, and not at Duke that is so nationally known. Would there be this much delay if it would have been Duke's men's basketball and not the La Crosse team?

And baby Suri is born to Tom and Katie. Blah....

Golf league starts tonight at Oaks Summit for us. It's not nearly as long as bowling season (20 weeks?) and much more enjoyable.

I did not have time to watch AI last night due to my rehearsals in La Crosse (the city in Wisconsin, not the rape-scandalous sport). I will catch up on it tonight and discuss Ace's departure tomorrow!

Tonya comes home today most likely!

Song of the Day - I FINALLY found the song that has been played on the radio and I know it to be a fake! She Says by Howie Day is playing on mainstream radio right now and the bridge/chorus is a total rip off of Dave Matthew's Band Crush (Off of the Before These Crowded Streets album). So here's what you do..... listen to all of the DMB version, then bring up iTunes and do a search on She Says and listen to the free 30 second version and you'll see what I'm talking about. You heard it here first!

Video of the Day - Usually I'm a huge fan of hockey fights, but this one isn't right. It's those dang hockey coaches I tell you. Funniest thing is how they're on the same team!

Webpage of the Day - The great Peep Jousting page!! A longer read, but well worth the time for those fans of Peeps and especially Peeps in the microwave! GO PURPLE!!
