For those that are lazy and procrastinate, you have till midnight tonight to get your taxes in. Unless you live in certain New England states... then you have till tomorrow since today is "New England Day"?!?!?!?! What the.... I declare today Minnesota Day. No mail today. Like we need more excuses not to let the post office be open. "Columbus's 3rd Voyage's 2nd Assistant" Day!!! NO MAIL!!!!
Sorry for the late blog today. I had a good workout this morning, then was scheduled to give blood at 8am today. They had to use a vein on the side of my arm and I think I'm glad I have 2 months off with no needles in my arms. They need the time to heal. I'd make a horrible drug user. Not sure how they can poke themselves as often as they do. Guess I'll have to stick with snorting stuff if I ever decide to go full-time drug user. I did enter the "2 gallon" donated club. I'll have to add that to my resume.
We had a wonderful Easter in Ames with some good friends, good music, and of course, good eats!! I love cooking for everyone after our church performance and made some Ham, Homemade Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole (using fresh green beans!), strawberry jello desert, Jen's kick a$ Romain Lettuce Salad, rolls, and Sonia made her famous Mac & Cheese. I need to eat more Mac & Cheese. In the words of Bare Naked Ladies - "If I had a Million Dollars.... But we would eat Kraft Dinner.... of course we would, we'd just eat more. And buy really expensive Ketchup and things.... fanciest DI-JON KETCHUPS!!!"
My new phone from Cingular kicks major butt. I had to buy the USB connection program for $30 but that made transferring phone numbers over from my old phone a lot easier. I can also have all of my phone numbers synced up in case I ever lose them. I also figured out how to transfer over MP3s already and will play with the pictures this morning to continue to customize the phone. I have a sound clip "HOORAY FOR HAZEL" when Hazel calls, and of course the TROGDOR theme song when Pat calls me. This stuff is fun.
And congrats to the Detroit Red Wings who are hot as any team in the NHL right now (9-0-1 in their last 10, haven't lost in regulation since March 7th. I like it when they enter the playoffs on a roll... that's usually trouble for the other 15 teams trying to win the Red Wing Stanley Cup. Playoffs start this weekend I do believe. Not sure if they'll be on TV or not.... we shall see who picks up the coverage.
Song of the Day - It's Tax Day, so I'm listening to Pink Floyd's Money. Has one of the classic openings to any song that everyone should be identifiable. Plus a kick ass bass line that everyone knows and loves!!! YAY!
Video of the Day - We watched Memoirs of a Geisha this weekend and I guess I thought it was overhyped. In preparation of tomorrow night's AI I'll use the line - "It was just ok for me.... dawg". The cinematogrphy and costumes were cool, but the plot was long and Peter-Jackson-esque 2.5 hours long!
Webpage of the Day - Simple math... that doesn't add up. This will make your head hurt. (hint: don't divide by zero). Mom, use these on your 8th graders and see what they think.

Today is also Holly's birthday.
So with Cingular do you have to pay crazy money to get sounds and pictures on your phone? Sprint has the biggest rip off for ringtones. $2.50 and you only get it for 90 days. That's nuts.
One of my friends that watched the movie with us also read the book and without him, we would have been lost in a few parts of the movie. I agree though, 99% of the time - the book is better. I urge ANYONE that wants to see Da Vinci Code to read the book first. It is a very fast read! You can borrow Hazel's book when she's done with it if anyone wants!
