Back From Mini-Vacation

I'm back like a vertebrae!! Tired of being in a car, but I'm at work today (YUCK), it's definitely spring here in Southern Minnesota, and now I only have a 4 day work week!!! YEE-HAW!!

First, the important things.... I'M OFFICIALLY SWITCHING TO CINGULAR! I made the plunge this morning and ordered a new phone (Motorola RAZR) and switched my number over. I was able to "port" my old number so there should be no difference for most of you (different voice mail I guess). Sprint just frustrated me too much and I've had that same phone for the past 3 years so it was time for a change!

This past weekend was a blast. Haven't had a chance to download all of my pictures yet but will do that soon! Hazel and I headed to Madison Saturday morning and hung out with Eddie and Juanita all weekend. It was nice to see Mamma Kusmider and Eddie's Sister as well... and I finally met Eddie's niece Emily (is everyone named Emily from now on? Some Utopian sci-fi flick where "special" children are named Emily????) Sunday night we hit a recital at the University in Madison (review yet to come later today) of a friend of mine from the La Crosse Symphony. Monday we drove to the House on the Rock (about 40 minutes on this side of Madison) and had an awesome time. For anyone that hasn't been there, I suggest going. It's a house built into a cliff and the house itself is amazingly unique... but the extra displays and collections is what makes it more fun to go through! They've added so much that I don't remember when I went as a kid! Well worth the trip over there! (less than 3 hours from Rochester). Then last night we drove to Winona and met some more of Hazel's friends and hit a concert on Campus last night. Then came home and slept in my own bed which was nice!

And this is the LAST week of Lent. Which means I can have some coffee and pop very soon. The "no alcohol" never bothers me, but this "no caffeine" that I did this year was the hard part. Just not a lot of other options to drink when we go out other than the normal water.

AI is on tap for tonight - any predictions? I'm done wishing Bucky off the show... watch him win somehow.

Have a great Tuesday!

Song of the Day - There's a lot of music displays at the House on the Rock. They have these displays that you can put in a token (or two for the bigger ones) and they have instruments that are machine played with some different classical music. The one that I enjoyed was the Saint-Saens Danse Macabre display but now that song is still going through my head. I should be able to listen to it today and move on to the next song roaming around up there.

Video of the Day - We watched Jarhead the other day. It was interesting but once I started figuring out what the base of the plot was going to be, I was upset. I didn't like how they focused on a group that went to the Iraq war and didn't do anything the whole time they were there. There are too many soldiers going to Iraq that do go through pure hell and I didn't like how the movie took the focus away from them.

Webpage of the Day - It might be too late for April Fool's jokes... but you can still pull a joke on your significant other by using this "Positive Pregnancy Test to scare your friends". There are some sick people out there! Only on eBay!

Let me know how the Cingular thing works out. I'm thinking about going to them when my Verizon runs out in a couple of months.

When you have to use the words "pee germs" in your ebay auction, it might be a good sign you shouldn't be putting the item on ebay in the first place. Still, I think Jill should buy it for Jamie.

$15.50 to get into the house on the rock? Man that's a rip off to see collections of junk. I have two words for you, "tourist trap."
