Short Thoughts

So sorry about the lack of a long post yesterday. Obviously my dad liked the shortened post (I originally thought he liked the Sir Mix-A-Lot remake that I shared but he later told me it was his favorite since it was so short)...... I seriously felt noncreative in the morning when I got to work and things caught up fast so I never had a chance to find anything to talk about.

First off, congrats to the Astros for their win to send them to the World Series. What can I say, I'm a sucker for good baseball which always happens this time of year. Last year I was working in the lovely town of Tucson, AZ for a couple of weeks and spent every evening at my Grandmother's (who also lived in Tucson) watching the Incredible come back of the Boston Red Sox, then the sweep in the World Series. Good stuff. I predict Astros in 5 games. But then again, I can't make predictions lately.

Speaking of predictions, I did not win the lotto last night:( Blah! So back to work I go. There will be other chances. In fact, I didn't get a single number correct. I need a new hobby!

Red Wings are 6-1 already! Manny has been in net 100% of the season so far so after long last, he's the number one man. Should have happened a couple of seasons ago. And my boy Shanny leads the team in penalty minutes (he got all 19 of them in the first game!).

My roommate has me addicted to Apprentice which is on tonight. I have a thing for Kristi (although Rebecca's kind of cute too) and so yeah, I'm basically pulling for the cute girls to win at this point. I think it's funny how cocky and arrogant the guys are even though they work a lot better as a team than the girls. The girls are so funny to watch how backstabbing and caddy they can be. Toral is gone thankfully - she was annoying as can be with her arrogance and "I've worked too hard to get where I am and cannot jeopardize that by wearing a costume". I've wanted to wear an Easter Bunny suit to work for a while now. Call it a morale boosting event. Everyone knows the stupid things I like to do for attention, even while at work!

The Brews Brothers (bowling team) didn't do so hot last week. I blame our captain who was too busy making chartered boat reservations on Lake Minnetonka to stay focused on hitting the pins. PICK IT UP BOYS! I think I am joining the ranks again next week now that my concert will be over with. Lovely - back to my terrific average.

It's cold again here in Minnesota but that's the way it should be for October. Concerts tomorrow and Saturday nights in La Crosse - let me know if you're interested. No, I don't get any free seats but I get some kind of discount I think.

Song of the Day - I pulled out the original Baby Got Back after yesterday's inspiration. I'm playing with my new toy which I finally gave in and purchased - a new 80 GB USB2.0 harddrive that is seriously the size of two floppy disks. It's amazing how small it is and works off of USB2.0 for power so it is completely mobile like I have always wanted. Now I store all my MP3s on there to free up space on my harddrive. With my luck of harddrive crashings, can't lose all the weekends spent ripping my CD collection into MP3s. So yeah, go get a USB drive and fill it with multiple versions of Sir Mix-A-Lot.

Video of the Day - I finally watched Fever Pitch last night (Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon). It was pretty dang funny for those that like comedies with Fallon and those that like chick flicks. Seriously, I think everyone would like this movie. What's so incredible is how the Red Sox actually won the World Series when they were filming the movie.... how lucky was that? My new thing though is watching DVDs at faster playback. So I bump up the speed to 1.5x and watch a 90 minute movie in 60 minutes, thus giving me an extra 30 minutes of my life back. How sweet is that? Sure, everyone talks really fast but not too fast if you're paying attention. Plus the bullets sound like pop guns, it's kind of humorous. Try it sometime. I can only find that feature on my laptop, not on my DVD player at home.

Webpage of the Day - Mr. Hankie's brother withdrawals from Mayor race. Those crazy Canadians!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

That HD is pretty nice. I'd like to see it next week.
