I expect at least 10 Standing Ovations (even if they're choreographed) during the middle of my Blog today. And Nancy Pelosi reading my speech in the background while I'm giving it..... and Cheney falling asleep (will he wake up is the question)..... What got me thinking is "how many times are all of our top governmental officials together in one room like this?" - "who would be in charge tomorrow if something were to happen to this place tonight".... If you're wondering the order of succession, it's as follows:
- Cheney (Vice President) - the main reason we don't want anything to happen to Bush in the next year... yes, it CAN get worse
- Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the House)
- Robert Byrd (President Pro Tempore of the Senate)
- Condozilla Rice (Secretary of State)
- Henry Paulson (Secretary of the Treasury)
- Robert Gates (Secretary of Defense)
- Michael Mukasey (Attorney General)
So after Rice, I'm not familiar enough with those individuals to know if they were present. Scary to think that Alberto Gonzales was #7 in line for the president while he was "around".
Florida Primary today ..... GO VOTE if you live in Florida. I'm proud at the record turnouts for all of the primary voting so far. Hopefully we can have over 50% of the voters turn out this time for the big election in November. It's encouraging to see supporters from both sides of the process come out and take part in the whole thing. Here's to hoping that the Kennedy support of Barack yesterday helps for another strong win!
And for your enjoyment - here's the highlight of this past weekend while in La Crosse.... we always use a "guest MC" for our children's concerts. He's wonderful with the kids and provides a lot of extra entertainment for kids and adults alike.... plus he's one of the most recognized people in the world - now I have my picture with him:
