Today is National Day of Change....
So I celebrated by giving my blog template a face lift. I hope you like the new style. Change is good!
As can be seen by last night's election results! Yes, I'm a happy camper today. I hope everyone got out to vote (and received a free burrito from Chipotle for wearing your sticker). I'm happy to see so many people out there are tired of the "old ways" and ready to try something new. I am not saying the new House and Senate will have all of the answers, but the old regime wasn't getting the job done. Unfortunately we have to wait 2 more years till there's a normal level of competency returning to the White House.
Minnesota celebrated the Day of Change by electing both Amy Klobuchar and Tim Walz... both were part of the rally from last week that I attended. The governor hasn't been decided officially yet, but it's looking like we're stuck with Pawlenty again. That's too bad because Hutchinson pulled in a lot of the liberal votes (including mine) to the Independent Party but not near enough to make a legit run at the office. That 6% voting for Hatch would have made it an easy victory. I don't vote straight party lines, and some will say "a vote for the Independent Party is a wasted vote" but I strongly feel that you should vote for the strongest candidate in your eyes.
Although it's the Day of Change, my vote for Drewbie for County Sheriff didn't get him elected. I was hoping for a ride in the sheriff's car if he won. We'll do a better job campaigning next time Drewbie!
Another celebration for the Day of Change is further information that McCarney is on his way out at Iowa State. Remember, change is good! Nothing official yet, but AD Jamie Pollard is speaking daily with McCarney and hopefully giving him the "fix it or leave" speech. Will he actually get rid of Dan-o? Who knows, but there are also rumors that Jim Harbaugh (of Bears and Colts fame) might be in the running for taking over for the Cyclones.
And of course, no Day of Change could be complete without hearing about Britney filing for a divorce from K-Fed. A universal "I told you so" has been unleashed. I do feel sorry for the kids... can't imagine which parent would be worse to grow up with.
Song of the Day - Actually, today I wanted to comment how dumb the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol is. The first time I heard the song, I thought it was a commercial for diamonds for some reason. The more I hear it, the more I realize how simple and stupid it really is. Sorry, just my musical opinion. Don't worry, I think a lot of the songs on the radio right now are crappy. We need a new radio station in Rochester. If only I'd win the lottery!
Video of the Day - Kevin Interview (after the commercial) where he claims that he's successful because he's "real". After watching it, you wonder why Britney waited so long to dump his @$$. Unfortunately he references "the next albums" and growing his name into an empire.
Webpage of the Day - New Tenacious D movie looks pretty funny! I can't wait to see JB and KG!!! November 17th!
