I'm home after a very long day of riding in a car yesterday. I am using today to catch up around the house and do errands before running to work. All together, it was about 14 hours in a car coming back from Kentucky yesterday.
The service on Saturday went well and the weather was incredible up in the mountains. After the service we had a big picnic for everyone at the cabins that my family was staying in. That's when the excitement started. There was a stomach virus going around and people started getting it one by one over the next day. We drove back to KY on Sunday with my dad in full pain from the virus. He was much better by Monday, but now my Mom has it (and my aunt). I high tailed it out of reach from the virus as fast as I could yesterday and am safe in Rochester. I cleaned 100% of the clothes I took with me last night to kill any bacteria that was following me. I hate getting sick. I feel good this morning so I'm hoping that I'm safe.
Hazel is having a blast out in Boston with her nursing coworkers. They are out there for a conference with some professional shopping on the side. She returns Thursday night.
One thing I realized this week being with a lot of family that is separated by many miles unfortunately, how this shouldn't prevent us from getting together. This was the most time I have spent with my cousins from Florida in many years and it brought some regrets that I have waited so long to catch up. I am thankful we had a chance to get together and am looking forward to the wedding in August of the younger of my two cousins in Ohio. Always a good time:)
Have a great day and my normal day starts tomorrow!

Drink your orange juice.
Stay away from that potato salad at picnics, it will get you every time.
